Cold weather promotion suggestions

The journey of expelling cold is like turning on a switch to communicate with the body, and it does so layer by layer. When you listen to your body, you’ll naturally make more body-friendly choices.

Sharing from the cold-repellent group:

We use mind, body and spiritual teachers (yoga, meditation, singing bowl audio, qigong, etc.) as suggested examples of "Ambassadors of Cold-Expelling and Warming Up" to simulate actual situations to introduce the concept of cold-expelling. Even if you are not a teacher, you can refer to it. Everything is flexible, and you are welcome to be creative and find the most comfortable way to promote cold weather at your pace.

Feel the temperature and feel the body

Indoor activities with air conditioning are almost seasonless. If you walk barefoot in an air-conditioned room, the cold air will be directly transferred from the ground to your body. We encourage "Cold-Repelling and Warming Ambassadors" to be more aware of the relationship between the ambient temperature and the body during class. When leading meditation/peaceful moments, you can do the following:


● Pay attention to whether the indoor air-conditioning temperature is too low, the air volume is too strong, or the air outlet is blowing directly, and make appropriate adjustments.
● When you sweat, your pores open. If too strong cold air blows in at this time, you will easily catch a cold. Especially when your body is calm, the air conditioner should be adjusted to a higher temperature.
● When meditating, you can remind students to pay more attention to their body sensations, be aware of the body's sensitivity to temperature, and ask them where they feel particularly cold or warm, or where they feel tense or relaxed.

Demonstration is the best communication

The most important thing in promoting the cold-repellent effect is not the oral communication, but what the "Cold-repellent Warmth Ambassadors" actually do. We recommend that "Warmth Ambassadors" take action to demonstrate the habits and awareness of keeping warm, and focus on controlling the ambient temperature. There is no need to talk specifically about keeping warm. Between classes you might want to:

● During breathing exercises, meditation, sitting lectures → already wearing socks

● When performing movements or asanas → Take off your socks and put them aside neatly

● During the big break → put your socks back on

Understand differences and care for needs

Everyone's physique and sensitivity are different, so their acceptance of expelling cold is different. After a certain degree of observation and understanding of the students' status, it will be smoother and more appropriate to start the communication slowly. Step-by-step observation: Students can do this:


● Give appropriate suggestions based on students’ different physical conditions

● Students who are sensitive to cold weather will be given priority to keep warm ● Students who are not yet able to get rid of cold weather will not be forced to do so

Experience first, share later

We encourage you to strengthen your personal cold-dispelling practices in your daily life, feel the changes in yourself and the improvements in your body, mind and spirit, accumulate experience, and then share it with people around you. This will be more powerful. To bring cold into your life, you can add these small habits:


● Write down the physical and mental condition you are facing (and want to improve) ● Set a target time for cold expulsion observation (1-3 months)

● Record the changes in your body and mind ● Share with students/friends in need
